Concerning the establishment of “Security industry”

Concerning the establishment of “Security industry” technical committee #165 within the State Committee for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy (Derzhspozhivstandard).

 

The efforts of USIF standard committee along with “Standardization & Certification” project group in creating favorable conditions for the improvement of national standardization system in securityindustry have met an absolute support from State Committee for Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy (Derzhspozhivstandard) and other state institutions, public organizations and market participants. USIF has obtained the functions of secretariat in the newly-formed technical committee #165 within the Derzhspozhivstandard.

 

Concerning “Securing Euro 2012: Ukrainian resource”

SECURITY-UA magazine has developed a media project named “Securing Euro 2012: Ukrainian resource”, fulfilling the order of USIF.ubezpech

Project’s primary goals are:

  1. Providing assistance for domestic security industry participants in receiving orders for products and service that will secure Euro 2012 facilities.
  2. Promoting new methods and technologies of security in Ukraine.
  3. Generating positive public image of Ukraine’s leading professional associations of security and interfacing markets.

Security sector development program for the period until 2015

Memorandum of collaboration concerning the creation of “Security sector development program for the period until 2015”

 

“Security sector development program for the period until 2015” memorandum of collaboration has been signed by the members of security industry public organizations on July 14, 2009.

The Program, that is expected to reform the sector over a next few years, has to ensure fundamental increase in the offer of top-quality service and technical means of security for both domestic and foreign customers.

We kindly ask anyone, who might be willing to take part in the development of the Program to follow the reports concerning “Crisis management programs for years 2009-2010 and security sector development strategy until 2015”.

 

The Third USIF General Assembly: highlights

Third rally of Ukrainian Security Industry Federation has been held in Kyiv on June 12, 2009. The rally was attended by 43 representatives of USIF companies spanning 10 regions of Ukraine, along with heads of leading professional associations and security industry companies.

Complimentary addresses were delivered by USIF President Mr. Anatoly Dolynnyi and the head of Ukrainian Union Producer Fire-Control Production and Service (ukr. USVPPP) Mr. Boris Platkevich. The rally featured public discussion on urgent topics concerning the development of technical means of security industry.

The key speeches of the event were delivered by the following participants:

  1. Mr. O.Kolpakov, the head of strategic planning workgroup, on “USIF strategic planning and crisis management”
  2. Mr. A.Dolynnyi, USIF President, on “Significance of common projects in the development of USIF-members business. “Hospitable dwelling 2012” as an example of a common project.
  3. Mr. O. Baran, USIF vice-president, the head of international and public relations committee, on “USIF participation in Euralarm projects”
  4. Mr. B.Kupovich, USIF council member, on “USIF lawmaking. Developing legislation “Safe-keeping (Property and person protection)”
  5. Mr. O. Cherkashin, head of the Standard committee, on “Developing legislative initiative in the Ukrainian construction association group” and “Creation of “Security Industry” technical committee”.
  6. Mr. O. Krasnopiorov, USIF vice-president, on “Cooperation between USIF and other professional bodies. Participation in holding exhibitions, “Bukovel: security” conference, “Leaders of Ukrainian security industry” national contest etc.”

 

On the meeting to hear reports and elect officials, delegates of the rally got familiarized with the report of control and audit committee and adopted amendments to the USIF Statute. The latter are meant to deepen the part of regional divisions and improve USIF management system.

The newly-elected USIF Federation council has approved Mr. Anatoly Dolynnyi as its President, Mr. Oleg Baran as a first vice-president and Mr. Оleksandr Krasnopiorov as a vice-president.

USIF representatives participated in joint French-Ukrainian “Euro-2012” workshop

The workshop took place in the Opera Hotel, Kyiv on April 3, 2009.

The workshop embraced a wide range of issues concerning preparation for UEFA EURO 2012, such as long-term development prospects of transportation and communication, highway development projects, emergency systems, healthcare etc.

Mr. Anatoly Dolynnyi, USIF President, gave an insight into the needs and possibilities of Ukraine’s security market participants in the perspective of securing UEFA EURO 2012 facilities and guests. In his speech Mr. Dolynnyi made a special emphasis on the following projects:

  1. the «REDISS» (Real Estate Development Insured Standardized and Secured) development and adoption to the construction of new units market’s self-regulation along with collaboration of all market participants: construction, insurance, security and energy saving.
  2. “Hospitable dwelling-2012”: certification and refitting of the existing dwellings in order to host UEFA EURO 2012 guests; analysis of the execution of UEFA EURO 2012 accommodation program; alternative solutions for the existing problems.
  3. “All-purpose ticket”: use of a stadium ticket as a form of payment for public transport service, minimizing crime hazards.

 

In their turn, French companies that took part in the event offered assistance in designing airports and other infrastructure facilities, providing security, constructing and maintaining medical institutions, rearranging transport ticketing systems, telecommunication systems, holding mass events etc.

Ukrainian authorities were represented at the workshop by the members of Kyiv City and Region administration, members of Football Federation of Ukraine executive committee, and members of state government department responsible for the preparation of hosting UEFA EURO 2012 football championship.

“Bukovel: Security - 2009” Conference. Highlights



Second international conference “Bukovel: Security - 2009” has been held in Bukovel Tourist Centre, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine.

The conference was attended by 105 delegates representing 83 companies and 10 more delegates, who were invited from the government authorities and public organizations of Ukraine.

The world financial crisis, that made a considerable impact on Ukraine’s economy, as well as the lack of coordination in government’s attempts to carry out an effective crisis management were among the defining features of this year’s event.

Existing circumstances made it especially urgent for the participants of security industry to unify their efforts in various areas of cooperation such as in implementation of crisis management program presented at the conference.

Main events of the conference included:

  1. Public discussion on topic “Legislative regulation of Ukraine’s security market: current problems and prospects”.
  2. Open session of the task group that develops crisis management programs for years 2009-2010 and development strategy of Ukraine’s security market until year 2015.
  3. Theoretical and practical workshop “Adoption of innovation techniques in technical means of security; securing business and individuals.
  4. Open session of security public organizations Coordinating committee from the all-Ukrainian contest “Leaders of security and fire safety market”

 

Round table: “ Collaboration between enterprises of interfacing markets – construction, insurance and security in the «REDISS» (Real Estate Development Insured Standardized and Secured) project network. The participants of the conference noted progress achieved by Ukraine’s security industry since the previous Bukovel conference, held in March 2008. This conclusion has been proven by the successful work of security industry public organizations in improving legislative regulation of this field as well as standardization and certification of both production and service.
